The idea
The main SDR station is a desk setup. This project asks a narrower question: how small and self-contained can a digital-mode station get without giving up the ability to actually operate?
What it does
A lightweight digital radio station built around a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W running DigiPi, paired with a (tr)uSDX transceiver and a CM108 USB sound interface, running WSJT-X for digital-mode work without needing a full desktop computer.
How it works
The Pi handles audio routing, radio control, and timing for WSJT-X, with GPS and an optional display as part of the compact package. The interesting engineering constraints here are the same ones as the main station — audio routing, radio control, accurate timing — but under much tighter power and space budgets.
Progress and outcomes
This is a working prototype and an ongoing area of experimentation, closely related to the main radio station rather than a fully separate build.

Continued refinement of power management and compact integration.
